So Much More Than Sweet Potatoes

We’ve kept active in the North Carolina community for years, and have done our part in sponsoring numerous charities and events across the state. Ham Farms is proud to be part of the local community in Greene County, NC, and is firmly devoted to supporting and sustaining the local population.

We Proudly Support

Community(1)

The family atmosphere and the southern hospitability of small town America are still a way of life in Greene County, NC. Located in beautiful eastern North Carolina in the middle of the coastal plain, Greene County is marked by beautiful landscapes and stunning scenery. Contentnea Creek flows through the county which also contributes to the brilliant countryside. Greene County is less than 2 hours from North Carolina's Crystal Coast and only about 1 1/2 hours from Oriental, the sailing capital of the world.

With a population just under 20,000 people, Greene County citizens are easily able to interact with one another and remain involved within the community. Countless recreational activities such as town festivals, little league baseball, senior Olympics, tennis courts and intramural sports enable citizens to interact with each other and remain involved within the community. The local school system provides a good, quality education providing younger generations with a chance to succeed. Greene County also hosts a branch of the local Community College, preparing citizens to impact the community and the all of the local industries involved. Know largely as an agricultural area, Greene County still has a growing industrial community.

At Ham Farms, we are glad to be part of such an involved and close knit community. As the population grows, we will continue to support all of the local organizations and citizens that have contributed to what Greene County, NC is today.

Social Sustainability

A company must give back to it's community to be sustainable.

As a family business, the company and its staff have a deep passion for each other, our communities, and agriculture. That is why we continue to support our local and state communities as well as the agribusiness industry.

To help as much as we can in our own area, donations are made to churches, fire and rescue departments, parks and recreations, and our schools. Donations are not always monetary, as our family and our staff remain actively engaged in the community.

We are happy to sponsor events such as the NC Sweet Potato FestivalFarmville Dogwood Festival and the GC American Red Cross Tri-County Tennis Classic.
